During your self guided tour we will also provide everything you need to have a safe and successful experience. Oh, and don't worry we add extra convenience to your trip by meeting you at the location with all the equipment. So all you have to do is show up ready to have fun!

FIRST - You will meet the kayak deliverer at Kualoa regional park (closest beach park to Chinaman’s hat). where we deliver the kayaks and other gear to you making your trip stress free. All you do is show up ! The exact location and time will be given via email/text message before your arrival. Upon arrival you’ll be given a liability waiver each person in your party is required to sign. You will also be given activity instructions and best practice safety tips. The kayaks you will use are for beginners so they’re are stable and easy. They come with everything you will need for the trip such as life vests, snorkel sets, 10L dry bags, and tour map for kayaking, hiking, and snorkeling.

Second- You will set out on your adventure by beginning to kayak out to chinaman’s hat. The water to the islet is pretty shallow, especially depending on the tide that day and there are no large waves you need to worry about because of the reef about 100 feet from the shore, which makes it easier to get into the water with your kayaks. On your way to the islet you will surely enjoy the blue waters that make Hawai’i so beautiful. Don't forget to pull our your camera from your dry bag to snap some instagram worthy photos with the Kualoa mountain range as your backdrop while you stop and enjoy the views! After 20-30 mins of kayaking you will arrive on the west side of chinaman’s hat where you can drag the kayaks up to the shore and take in the scenery. If you are a more experienced adventurer get ready for an awesome hike, However, if you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can simply relax on the island's shores, soaking up the warm Hawaiian sun and reveling in the peaceful ambiance. Enjoy a picnic on the beach, listen to the rhythmic sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, and let the island's natural beauty soothe your soul.

Hiking to the top of Chinaman’s Hat

The hike to the top of Mokoli'i Island is not for the faint of heart. It presents a moderate challenge, requiring a good level of physical fitness and agility. However, each step brings you closer to the summit, and with determination and perseverance, the reward awaits. As you navigate the trail, be prepared to encounter a diverse range of flora and fauna. The island's rich ecosystem showcases an array of tropical plants, including vibrant flowers, towering palm trees, and fragrant native shrubs. Keep an eye out for the native Hawaiian seabirds, such as the wedge-tailed shearwater and the red-footed booby, as they soar through the sky above. As you ascend higher, the trail may become steeper and more rugged. It's essential to wear appropriate footwear and take caution while traversing the rocky terrain. Yet, the challenging nature of the hike is more than compensated by the unfolding panorama that greets you with each step.

LAST- After your exploring around the islet make sure to leave the island better than you found it and pick up any trash you see around you. Now you are ready to head back to the shore and end your self-guided kayaking tour to Chinaman’s Hat that you will be sure to remember for a lifetime.
